A New Street in the Old Village: A Look Inside

Earl’s Court is a new development in the popular Old Village area of Mt. Pleasant. The development (about to break ground) will feature cottage-style homes with comfortable, functional space. These custom homes will vary in size from 1,000 square feet up to 1,700 square feet and no two homes will be identical. This video represents a floor plan that was built in I’On which will also be built in Earl’s Court.

The Little I’on That Could

Today, I’on is one of the most beautiful and unique planned communities in our area. Planned with the intent of recreating the functionality of older traditional, Vince Graham and the I’on Group, set out to re-write the rules on neighborhood design, and in doing so, created a gem in the heart of Mt. Pleasant.

Tree-lined streets, inviting porches,  community green spaces, and back alleys ~ these features work to create a stronger community feel, reminiscent of the historic neighborhoods of downtown Charleston.

Watch it from the ground up and see the foresight that went into I’on

New Micro-Apartment Design in NYC

article-2266745-17196B35000005DC-997_634x286“New York’s ability to adapt with changing times is what made us the world’s greatest city – and it’s going to be what keeps us strong in the 21st Century.” – New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg

In an answer to New York City’s housing shortage, the City has named the winning design for fifty-five 400 square foot micro apartments which will be built in mid-town Manhattan.  The new apartment design will be part of a new exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York.  While we previously mentioned that smallest of homes in Earl’s Court will be at least double the size of these apartments, it is still interesting to see how the trend in smaller living is really taking on throughout the country!
