Lowcountry Home Sales Rise in August

Folly Beach, SCFor the third month in a row, home closings in the Charleston area have surpassed the 1,000 units sold mark!  August of this year saw 1,014 homes being sold in the Charleston area, compared to 904 homes over the same period last year.  According to the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, the year-to-date sales volume is also up by 10%.  To get a break down of county-by-county figures, check out this article in the Charleston Regional Business Journal.

NYT Profile on a Downtown Charleston Home

In last week’s “On Location” section of the New York Times, the writer showcased a unique Charleston home in the Elliotborough section of town.  The featured new-construction home is designed to look like a palatial Palladian Villa–but the catch is it is only 870 square feet in size!  Read on to see how the owner and design team worked together to get the look and feel of a historic Italian Villa while maximizing every square inch of space.  Pretty impressive!
